Reasons to choose Presidency University and reasons to reconsider

Reasons to consider it

  • The official menu has named programmes across engineering, design, law, management and allied healthcare, so there are real alternatives beyond CSE.
  • The 2025 placement block publishes its average, median, highest, participating companies and placed count together.
  • Collegedunia publishes subject-specific 2026 rankings and multi-round KCET branch cutoffs that can be checked against the course.

Reasons to think twice

  • Most named 2026 course totals have no public first-year instalment or itemised mandatory-charge breakdown.
  • The ₹95,000–₹1.2 lakh hostel range does not name the room or meal package behind each price.
  • The published placement averages are for a broad batch, not a CSE-only graduating cohort; the campus location at Rajanakunte may also lengthen a Bengaluru commute.

The range of subjects is a clear strength: students have computing, core engineering, design, business, law and arts options within one university. A BCA applicant can study General, Data Science or AI and Machine Learning; an engineering applicant can choose computing or branches such as Civil, Mechanical, ECE and Aerospace.

Costs differ sharply between subjects. CSE is ₹13 lakh for four years in the 2026 fee listing, while Civil and Mechanical Engineering are ₹4.8 lakh each. Hostel residents also have return-time and outing rules. The published placement summary covers a university batch, so it does not establish the placement rate for an individual branch.
