B.Tech CSE, MBA and BBA are among the major choices. B.Tech is a four-year engineering degree, MBA is a two-year postgraduate degree and general BBA runs for three years. Engineering branches include CSE specialisations in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Cyber Security and Data Science, alongside ECE, Mechanical, Aerospace and other subjects.

The Visakhapatnam options also include integrated law, B.Pharm, nursing, architecture, science, humanities and postgraduate courses. BBA Financial Markets requires Mathematics in Class 12 and includes collaboration with NSE Academy. Each course has its own subjects, duration and selection requirements.

CSE facilities, business laboratories and residential choices

CSE students have access to application centres in AR/VR, Autonomous Systems and 5G Communications. The degree includes 24 credits across other schools and a compulsory two-credit venture-development course. Business facilities include Bloomberg, NSE and analytics laboratories, with case studies, projects and internships forming part of MBA study.

Residence packages vary by block, occupancy, washroom arrangement and AC category. Academic costs increase in later years, and a merit scholarship requires a minimum 8.0 CGPA for continuation. CSE applicants with 50–60% in Class 12 face additional eligibility conditions and a placement-related waiver because some employers require more than 60%.

Reasons to consider it

  • CSE includes 24 credits across other schools, with facilities for AR/VR, autonomous systems and 5G.
  • The business school lists Bloomberg, NSE and analytics laboratories.
  • Named campus hostels combine accommodation and dining, with several room occupancies.

Reasons to think twice

  • Later-year tuition increases by 5–8%, so multiplying the first-year amount by the degree length understates the budget.
  • CSE applicants in the 50–60% Class 12 group have additional entry conditions and a placement-eligibility waiver.
  • Merit scholarship continuation requires at least 8.0 CGPA; an award for the first year does not remove that condition.

GITAM rankings by subject

In the Collegedunia 2026 rankings, GITAM Visakhapatnam is 238 of 500 for engineering, 30 of 200 for pharmacy and 70 of 200 for law. Computer Applications is 73 of 200, Architecture 197 of 200 and Paramedical 28 of 200.

GITAM is also 88th in the NIRF 2025 University category. That institutional position has a different scope from a Visakhapatnam course fee or an MBA placement result. The rankings page separates subject ranks and accreditation.

Good laboratories and clubs; some subjects feel less relevant

Rudhra values the laboratories, campus infrastructure and the choice of technical, cultural and social-service clubs. He describes many teachers as friendly and helpful, although some are strict. The career guidance centre helps students think about their next steps. His concerns are subjects he finds less relevant, events that overlap with examinations and uneven mess food. These points give his account both an academic and a hostel perspective.

A green campus and active clubs, with a need for more lab practice

Lekhana likes the maintained, green campus, the Knowledge Resource Centre and events such as Shore and Kalakriti. Clubs, conferences and industrial visits add to her biomedical engineering course. She finds teachers helpful, while also mentioning strict attendance and differences in teaching quality. Her clearest academic request is more hands-on laboratory work.
