The Rancharda campus, computing labs and hostels

Indus describes a 20-acre campus at Rancharda, via Shilaj. Facilities include departmental laboratories, a library, sports spaces and hostels. The Computer Engineering department has laboratories with more than 600 computers and software for teaching and research.

Accommodation is available for boys and girls in AC and non-AC categories. The current room-sharing tariff, meal cost and refundable deposit need a separate quotation; they are not established by the academic course fee.

Aviation and design choices alongside engineering

A distinctive part of Indus is the availability of Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering and aircraft-maintenance study. Indus Design School adds Communication, Fashion, Interior and Product Design, with portfolio-based selection stages.

Costs vary considerably across these routes. The CSE fee is ₹4.13 lakh, compared with ₹10.70 lakh for the four-year B.Des Interior Design course. Outcomes also vary: engineering’s 2024–25 median was ₹5 lakh, management’s two-year group ₹4.75 lakh and architecture ₹3.6 lakh. These are separate graduating groups.

Reasons to consider Indus

  • Several computing routes: CSE, Computer Engineering, IT, Cyber Security, Data Science, BCA and MCA are named choices.
  • Practical aviation exposure: the campus and official film show an aircraft used for training.
  • A documented engineering result: 319 of 606 four-year UG graduates were placed in 2024–25, with a ₹5 LPA median; 252 went for higher studies.
  • Different subject areas on one campus: design, architecture, pharmacy, management and sciences have separate institutes.

Reasons to compare other options

  • Outcomes vary by degree: the 2024–25 management PG median is ₹4.75 LPA, while architecture UG is ₹3.6 LPA.
  • Reviews describe mixed practical-learning experiences: one BCA account raises concerns about slow lab computers and teaching; other reviewers value approachable faculty.
  • The Rancharda location affects the daily routine: transport or accommodation needs to be part of a city-based student’s plan.
  • Campus-space comments differ: the linked reviews mention construction, canteen seating and hostel payment timing.

What students rate at Indus University

The reviewed student set gives Indus 3.9 out of 5 across 113 reviews. Academics and social life each score 4.1, faculty 4.0, accommodation 3.9 and placements 3.8. Infrastructure scores 3.5.

The component scores describe different parts of student life. Individual accounts of facilities, teaching and placement support belong to the reviewer’s degree and period of study, while current admission rules and charges follow the selected programme.

4.2/5
Approachable teachers and project work; he wants stronger industry exposure.

Daksh values teachers who explain concepts clearly and help with projects. He likes the labs, library and classrooms with presentation equipment, and describes an active social life through clubs and campus events. The semester exams require regular study. His concerns are slower administrative work, fewer high-paying placement opportunities than stronger institutes, and a need for newer technologies and industry certifications in the course. He also describes hostel life as quieter than a party setting, with security rules for residents. His review gives a positive view of everyday teaching while pointing out gaps in industry exposure.

4.7/5
Real aircraft and accessible faculty; hostel payments and construction are drawbacks.

Vaishnav places the most value on access to real aircraft for training and teachers who are easy to approach. He describes airport-based internship exposure, classrooms with projectors and air conditioning, sports tournaments, a technical library and campus events. He says selection activity usually begins around the sixth or seventh semester. His concerns are ongoing construction and having to pay hostel charges six months in advance. He also wants separate classes where two qualifications overlap, because the combined timetable can be confusing. The review is especially useful for students comparing aviation training with a regular engineering course.

Good grounds and events, but his BCA lab and teaching experience was disappointing.

Smit likes the gardens, parking space and campus buildings. He mentions technical events, Navratri celebrations and the Indus Cup, and gives campus life a higher score than academics. His main complaints concern slow computers in the BCA lab and insufficient practical teaching before examinations. He describes a mid-semester and end-semester examination pattern and says the library has a useful collection. He is positive about the hostel but found few food options outside the campus. This is a critical account from the 2022 BCA intake; its historical fee amount should not replace the current course fee table.

He likes faculty support and the grounds, but finds canteen seating limited.

Dhyan chose Indus after comparing it with other universities and felt that the course fitted his budget. He praises the relationship between teachers and students, the upkeep of the campus, parking space and room for games. His academic account describes one mid-semester and one end-semester examination. The practical day-to-day drawbacks are limited canteen seating at lunch and stationery that costs more than shops outside. He expected more entertainment and events. As a newer student, his review is mainly about teaching and daily campus life; it does not provide a verified graduating-batch placement result.
