Adamas University is a private university established in 2014 in Barasat, North 24 Parganas, West Bengal. Its 120-acre Adamas Knowledge City campus brings together engineering, computing, business, pharmacy, law, sciences, humanities and education. The university holds a NAAC A grade with a CGPA of 3.01; the certificate is valid until 19 February 2030.

B.Tech CSE, MBA, BCA and BBA are among its Major Courses. The 2026–27 academic amount for four-year CSE is ₹8,91,800, while the two-year MBA costs ₹8,11,800. BCA and BBA in the current fee schedule both run for four years. Hostel and meals require a separate accommodation budget.

CSE has a 60% Class 12 aggregate requirement, alongside Class 10 and science-subject conditions. The 2025–26 CSE placement report records a ₹3.5 lakh median and 30 students placed from 40 eligible for placement; the final-year class had 107 students. These are different measures of entry requirements, cost and employment outcomes.

Major Courses: engineering, management, applications and law

Adamas Knowledge City campus and accommodation

Adamas Knowledge City is on Barasat–Barrackpore Road, P.O. Jagannathpur. Academic facilities include teaching buildings, departmental laboratories, a library and sports spaces. Its Barasat location places the residential campus outside central Kolkata.

Hostels offer AC and non-AC rooms in single, double and triple occupancy. The food arrangement includes four daily meals. Room choice therefore affects the accommodation cost in addition to the academic fee; a current room tariff and security amount are needed to calculate the residential cost.

Course choice, residential study and placement differences

Adamas offers several routes within computing: CSE specialisations, BCA and postgraduate MCA. Students interested in laboratory or professional study also have pharmacy, forensic science, biotechnology and integrated law choices on the same campus.

The financial and employment outcomes differ sharply by course. CSE costs ₹8,91,800 before accommodation and recorded a ₹3.5 lakh median in 2025–26; CSE AI & ML recorded ₹4 lakh. BBA and BCA require four years under the current schedule. A broad choice of subjects does not make their entry rules, study lengths or placement results interchangeable.

Reasons to consider Adamas

  • A wide choice of subjects: computing, forensic science, biotechnology, pharmacy, law and business are in the published course list.
  • A residential campus: AC and non-AC hostel options are described by the university.
  • Published programme costs: the 2026–27 schedule gives first-semester and full-course figures for named programmes.
  • Entry scholarships: the current policy has separate academic-merit, AUAT and other award routes.

Reasons to compare other colleges

  • Cost can rise with accommodation: the ₹8.92 lakh CSE academic total does not represent a four-year hostel budget.
  • Placement figures vary by group: the 2024–25 overall four-year UG median is ₹3.35 lakh; the three-year UG median is ₹6 lakh.
  • The campus is in Barasat: a long daily commute can change the experience for a student living elsewhere in Kolkata.
  • Scholarships cover a stated period: an entry award based on one semester is smaller than the same percentage of a full degree.

Student ratings for academics, facilities and placements

Adamas has an overall student rating of 3.9 out of 5 across 250 reviews in the reviewed set. Academics, faculty and infrastructure each score 4.0; accommodation scores 3.9 and social life 3.8. The placement rating is lower at 3.4.

These ratings describe student experience across courses and batches. The differences between teaching and placement scores are useful alongside the separate course-level placement counts, particularly for applicants choosing between engineering, management and science.

Physics teaching combines theory with projects, with approachable teachers and strong library access.

Kaustav describes a small Physics class where teachers were available for individual help. He found the mix of assignments, laboratory work and guest workshops useful. His account also covers searchable library collections, sports grounds, music activities and regular hostel housekeeping. He enjoyed the food and the space on campus. His experience is from the 2021 intake; the charges mentioned in his original review belong to that batch.

A clean campus and classroom technology stand out; hostel restrictions are a concern.

Shrestho says CSE teaching starts with the basics and uses presentations, seminars and unit assessments. He values the central and department libraries, classroom equipment and campus security. His admission through the university aptitude test was straightforward. He describes several food outlets and both AC and non-AC hostel choices, but would prefer fewer restrictions for residents. He also discusses a merit scholarship received at admission in his original review.

Biotechnology laboratories, internships and faculty support are strengths; exam guidance needs attention.

Rounak found a useful balance of theory and laboratory work, with notes and practical guidance from teachers. His course included an internship, dissertation and interdisciplinary project. He describes access to libraries, a medical centre, clubs and sports. He also raises specific concerns about damaged roads in parts of campus, strict rules and limited competitive-exam guidance. Most bachelor-level internships he encountered were unpaid, which matters when planning living costs.

Active clubs and good hostel meals come with high residential costs and strict exit rules.

Shruti likes the green campus, sports facilities and student clubs. She finds the hostel meals satisfactory and mentions AC and non-AC room choices. Her CSE timetable includes subjects such as design thinking and innovation, although she feels some classes and laboratory teaching need improvement. Her main concerns are the hostel and food charges, and the requirement for parental permission to leave campus. She was in her first year when she wrote this account.
