Engineering study at KARE combines classroom subjects with laboratories, projects and industry-linked work. Separate curricula and academic regulations apply to different degrees and admission batches. The 2025 B.Tech regulations are newer than the available CSE syllabus under the 2021 regulations.

Research facilities include the Sir C.V. Raman Research Centre and the National Centre for Advanced Research in Discrete Mathematics. KARE's engineering research activity for 2024–25 includes 68 sponsored projects and 85 consultancy projects. Those figures describe institutional projects across the engineering group; student participation depends on the department, project and supervisor.

Kalasalingam Course Choice and Student Experience

KARE offers engineering alongside agriculture, law, architecture, management and health sciences on the Krishnankovil campus. Its SHIP programmes provide a distinct route for students with speech and hearing impairments. Regular CSE and the restricted SHIP CSE programme have different fee schedules and admission conditions.

Costs also vary within engineering: CSE, IT and AI & Data Science have ₹1.95 lakh annual tuition, while the other-disciplines tariff is ₹1 lakh before miscellaneous fees. Student accounts add branch-specific detail. Mechanical student Gajendran R discusses an automation internship and asks for more core recruiters; CSE student Kalavapudi Pavitra describes campus events and facilities while raising communication and announcement concerns.

Why choose Kalasalingam?

  • Engineering results: 1,507 placed graduates and ₹6.35 lakh median for the reported 2024–25 UG group.
  • Course choice: engineering, agriculture, management, law and health science at the Krishnankovil campus.
  • Lower core-branch tuition: ₹1 lakh annually for the branches in the “other disciplines” fee group.
  • Residential facilities: men’s and women’s room categories, sports and essential campus services.

Why might you skip it?

  • Regular CSE spending: ₹8.28 lakh academics before housing; higher than the common core-branch tariff.
  • Core job concerns: a mechanical student’s account describes fewer roles linked to his branch.
  • Hostel experience: student accounts raise food, room and classroom-comfort issues.
  • Branch data: an engineering-wide median does not reveal the salary or placement share for your exact specialisation.
